Moxie Estate Sales was founded by a former corporate public relations and marketing executive who shared the love for estate sale shopping with her mother in Metro Detroit. After moving to Northern Michigan and starting a family, Lisa began researching and learning about how to conduct professional sales.

She quickly learned that along with the difficult physical work of setting up and pricing venues, marketing was key to getting shoppers through the doors to make clients money AND clear out their homes.

If you follow Moxie Estate Sales on Facebook (and if you are a member, you really should), you will see influence of her more than a decade experience garnering clients media coverage and brand recognition. When you book a Moxie sale, we pledge to market your sale creatively and consistently, to the RIGHT audience.

We have been in business helping families downsize and liquidate estates for more than five years. We are headquartered in beautiful downtown Traverse City and currently serve communities in Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Antrim counties. From multi-building properties filled with 50 years of contents to pristine lake front homes, we have the grit, determination, knowledge, skills and, yes, moxie, to put together a fantastic estate sale that will net you the most amount and pay tribute to the lives spent enjoying the home and items in it.

Our team is regarded as one of the friendliest, most professional you'll find. Our network of subject matter experts including dealers, appraisers and a public adjuster, licensed by the State of Michigan, researches every item for current market values. We take our fiduciary responsibility very seriously. We labor over pleasing, clean set-ups and present our client's items in the most attractive light. It is of the utmost importance to us that we showcase the collections and contents, as well as the home, in the best light. Which is why you are unlikely to see a Moxie Estate Sale every weekend. We put our all into every assignment, because it matters. More buyers come when sales are advertised well and more buyers pay a premium when everything looks great.

Estate sale companies are not yet regulated. We wish they were. We would welcome more oversight. Estate sale companies come and go, many offering cut-rate commissions. When choosing an estate sale company be sure you check references, read reviews, attend sales, look at the details, meet the staff. Remember, you get what you pay for. We are lucky in our area to have a few very solid companies here to help and when we are booked, we happily refer one another.

Recently, we were honored to have been interviewed by the venerable Northern Express weekly publication. Take a peek: https://www.northernexpress.com/news/feature/the-life-changing-magic-of-an-estate-sale-maven/
